Day 13, July 12, 12 miles
Started my day this morning with a instant breakfast shake. Packed up and intentionally hiked out at 8 am so I could stop at The Farm 4 miles north for a real breakfast. The Farm opened at 10 am. It was quite a neat place. They have dried meats and cheeses and homemade sweets. I had an apple dumpling and then had to have the blueberry/peach pie. It was delicious. The 4 miles walk to the road was very enjoyable; however, the next 8 miles was tough. A lot of climbing today. I’m not complaining though–it was dry walking. It was also 88 degrees. The first really hot day. I’ll take it over the rain and mud.
Not much to tell today. I’m at the shelter in my tent. Here tonight are UHaul, The Other Guy, Firestarter and me. I met a young NOBO girl today, Vulture, but she’s flying.
I’ll be saying goodbye to Vermont soon. The Whites are coming!!

Oh my! The farm sounds great! You have my mouth watering. The pictures are beautiful. You can add photography to your list of talents. Sure hate you had a tough climb today but glad it was dry weather. 😀
